Does a high dose of Resveratrol cause more side effects?

September 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

The question is reasonable. Don’t you think that a high dose of Resveratrol might cause more problems than a low dose? Especially when you are new to Resveratrol it is crucial that you start with a low dose of Resveratrol to avoid any serious resveratrol side effects.

Studies showed that even low doses of Resveratrol can have great effects. The french have less problems with heart diseases, because of their daily consumption of red wine. Doesn’t that mean that small amounts of Resveratrol can help you to become healthier? This is a unsolved question.

Some athletes reported that a small amount of Resveratrol gave them quite an energy boost and made it possible for them to perform a lot better. Read more…

Small dose of Resveratrol can have great side effects!

August 29th, 2009 admin No comments

Sorry for the attention grabber, but I wanted to underline that you should consider reducing your daily Resveratrol dose if you experience any of the side effects listed below (joint pain).

Small amounts of Resveratrol can make a difference. If you take a daily dose of 1 to 3 grams of Resveratrol it can already have a great effect.

On a forum, a consumer reported that he noticed a 10% increase in power output and a better overall performance during various cycling tests.

A lower dose of Resveratrol is also recommended because some people reported that Resveratrol has a great inflammatory effect on their body, which is causing increased joint pain for them.

Resveratrol Side Effects to be added:

  • - Joint Pain increased
  • - Increased inflammatory effects
  • - Increased libido

A positive side effect of Resveratrol might be that it can help to increase your libido. Not just some, but many people have reported this now.

My recommendation would be to decrease your daily Resveratrol dose to avoid increased joint pain.

FDA-approved Resveratrol Supplement on it’s way

August 27th, 2009 admin No comments

One of the first FDA-approved supplements is going to be available soon. The FDA does not consider aging to be a diseases and will not test the anti-aging effects, but they will be testing how effective it is to fight diabetes, cancer and other diseases. That it is a great anti-oxidant we already know.

Considering that there aren’t any serious side effects it was about time the FDA approved Resveratrol. There are currently many clinical trials going on, which may help us to find out even more about Resveratrol.

Consumer Report Positive Side Effects

August 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

Sharon47 reported some positive side effects:

I have been taking Resveratrol now for 1 month when I started taken Resveratrol my stomach was so blotted after taking Resveratrol I have notice I’m not blotted anymore also one of my c-workers came by my desk and ask me if I had any botox done on my face.
Wow I was shocked your product does work.

Positive Side Effects:

  • Less Bloating
  • Softer / Healthier Looking Skin

The first side effect “less bloating” is very surprising, because on a forum someone reported that he experienced “Gas and bloated feeling from resveratrol“.

This underlines that the results can vary from person to person. If you take resveratrol you will hopefully experience no bad side effects at all, just like Sharon.

Consumer Report Side Effects Part I

July 12th, 2009 admin No comments

Some people used our submission system to report resveratrol side effects. If you want to contribute, please use this form to report any resveratrol side effects or experiences after taking resveratrol.

J. Goodman reported:

I have experienced PVC’s (Premature ventricular contraction) on the two occassions. It came on about 4-6 hours after taking the capsule, and lasted for several hours.

More about Premature ventricular contraction on Wikipedia

C. Hopf reported:

Has anyone reported getting a rash after taking Resveratrol?  I developed a rash on the inside of my arms and legs.

Unfortunately Mr. Goodman did not mention which resveratrol supplement he was taking. His solution was to simply discard the bottle.

Always keep in mind that this is a consumer report and not a scientific study. There are many other factors that could have played a role here (aside from resveratrol).

What does the mayo clinic say about resveratrol and it’s effects?

June 21st, 2009 admin No comments
Does resveratrol have any side effects?

Does resveratrol have any side effects?

So, what does the mayo clinic think about resveratrol? Actually, I was a bit disappointed – the mayo clinic does not have an article about resveratrol that includes more details than what you can find everywhere on the web.

But here are some other interesting facts, according to a study that I read, resveratrol can also help with diabetes, obesity and other diseases. It can lower the risk of inflammation and blood clotting and therefore lower the risk of heart diseases.

There aren’t many (if any) studies of  side effects in human, therefore we have to rely on consumer reports. Is that sufficient? I believe yes! Other studies proof that resveratrol is a natural compound that is not toxic even if it is consumed in large doses. Many positive effects have been reported by consumers repeatedly and according to them, resveratrol has much more health benefits than (if any) side effects.

Conclusion? Take resveratrol, but start slowly and increase your dosage when you think you got used to it.
